Watch The Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Interview with Oprah

    If you have been trying to watch the Oprah interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, here are some bits of it. So far, the full interview has not been uploaded for audience outside the U.S. because CBS has sold the rights to other TV networks.

    But on Twitter, there are some small parts of the videos that have been released by the network. You can watch it before they take it down. If you don’t see anything below, wait for a while as it’s the direct Twitter feed that’s loading. We will also be sharing the youtube links as they come.

    The Windsors Inside the Royal Dynasty & The Royals And The Tabloids

    Before watching this interview, there have been two documentaries about the British royals that were released at the end of 2020 and early 2021 titled ‘The Windsors Inside the Royal Dynasty’ & ‘The Royals And The Tabloids’. Both were very interesting docs with one saying that the tabloids were racist towards Meghan but then reiterating that the tabloids are mean to every member of the royal family. The other doc spoke about how the Queen is the only member of the royal family who hasn’t embarrassed the British public with her antics but she has had to go through generations of scandals and dramas from her other family members. The same documentary called out Harry and Meghan for always complaining and whining about something. The journalists claimed these two are never happy with what they have and always find a way to complain.

    The Oprah Winfrey Interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

    More than 17 million people tuned in to watch this interview, making it the second most-watched programme on CBS. Like her other interviews…Oprah really digs in, she asked Meghan about the royal family, her father and her sister. She interviewed Meghan first because this whole interview is about Meghan and what she went through with the royal family. Harry joined in later to talk about his family, his disappointments and how his father cut him off financially.

    Meghan about her father and half-sister

    Meghan said her dad lied to her right before her wedding that he has spoken to the tabloids. She said she felt betrayed that he didn’t protect her the way she would have protected her child. She doesn’t see them reconciling and being on good terms anytime soon. She mentioned her half-sister Samantha changed her last name to Markle right around the time that it became known that Meghan was dating Harry. Meghan identifies herself as the only child with no siblings. She said she hasn’t spoken to Samantha in years.

    Racist Talk about Meghan Markle

    To be clear, Oprah said the racist talk didn’t come from Prince Harry’s immediate family members, including the Queen and her husband Prince Philip. The skin talk happened in private between royal members and Harry, who later told Meghan about it.

    Meghan & the Tabloids

    Meghan alleged the media aka the tabloids have been racist towards her. The royal family did nothing to stop that. She seems to think that the royal family controls the tabloids. Bear in mind that she claims to have never read any of these tabloids but was notified through her friends of the nasty things being written about her.

    To her, it seemed as if the royal family didn’t want Archie to have certain royal things, such as a title and security, because he comes from a woman of color. Again, she is insinuating that they are racist. But, Prince Harry doesn’t comment on that other than the skin comment.

    As far as the titles go, everyone knows Princess Anne’s children don’t have titles as well as the latest baby in the family, Princess Eugenie’s child. When Prince Charles becomes King then it will be possible for Harry and Meghan’s kid to have a title. Until then, they are just like the other non-important members of the royal family. To the monarchy, only the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and his son Prince George matter.

    Comparison to Kate Middleton

    Meghan constantly compares herself to Kate is pretty much proof that she was never alright playing second fiddle to Kate. She didn’t want to follow protocols and walk behind the future queen. Amidst all this drama, how is Kate doing? She cannot speak out and she has been at this for a very very long time since she date Prince William. So can’t imagine what she had to ensure herself, on top of these allegations by Meghan.

    No idea of the Royal Family’s existence

    Meghan is still going with the story that she knew nothing of the royal family and how they functioned as a family business. Was she that naive to not know this is a 200+ year old (or so) monarchy and there are rules to follow?

    Not being given security is a bit issue

    Meghan and Harry, particularly Meghan, kept bringing up the “not being given security” issue in the interview. First, they were told that Archie would not be given security because he is not going to have a title. Why would a small child need security? Wherever he is going, his parents will be with him so why is it so important that he has his own bodyguards?

    Then the same issue popped up when Harry was asked about their move to Los Angeles before the lockdown began. Again, he mentioned the Palace took away their security as they were no longer working royals. It made sense because that’s not the job of the Palace anymore but Harry was emphasizing so much on not being given security that you would think they are living in Afghanistan or Iraq!

    Are they scared of the public? Because they are not being hounded by the paparazzi like his mother was, so why are they so scared? Harry was a military man and yet he is so afraid of roaming around without a bodyguard.

    Royal Family and Mental Health

    In 2017, Prince Harry spoke about mental health and disclosed that he was going to therapy to get over his mother’s death. He launched ‘Heads Together’ with Prince William and Kate Middleton to encourage people to talk about mental health and seek help. So, was he not in a position to help his wife out when she needed help? In Oprah’s interview, he doesn’t mention anything about his mental health and how the palace prevented him from seeking help at the beginning. He makes no mention of that since he has already mentioned in public that he has been in therapy for years. He just spoke about how the royal family aka the firm couldn’t afford to pay Meghan so they told Harry that she can continue to work as an actress, which was a bit surprising considering how everyone thought Meghan wasn’t allowed to continue working as an actress.

    Harry was happy…then he was not!

    Harry, at times, during the interview contradicted himself. He first claimed he was happy being a member of the royal family. Then later on, he goes on to say he, his father and his brother are trapped. He managed to get out, thanks to Meghan, but they can’t. Was he trying to say he was happy in the royal family before he met Meghan? Why would he say he was happy being a working prince? He never said he was always miserable and he didn’t want that life. Also, remember how he went on radio to say that the royal family was the family that Meghan never had? It was right before their wedding and she spent Christmas with them.

    Prince Harry on his relationship with his father and brother

    Prince Harry is disappointed and upset that his father refused to take his calls during the transition last year and also that he cut him off financially. What happened was, when it was announced that Meghan and Harry are stepping down as working royals, the British taxpayers’ money were no longer going to them. As a result, Prince Harry’s father Prince Charles said he was going to pay for their security.

    Initially, both Harry and Meghan expected Canada (where they were supposed to be migrating) to pay for their security detail but the Canadian government refused. Trump too mentioned that if they come to the U.S., they cannot expect the government to pay for their security. This is why Prince Charles stepped in and said he will take care of it. But then a lot of other drama followed and most probably, he was advised not to do it and also, the pandemic happened, so there might actually be a money issue. What would the British people think, right?

    About William, Harry said he loves his brother to bits and that right now, there’s space between them.

    Harry probably thought that he would be able to drop his royal duties, leave his family and leave his country and still be paid just because he is a royal member. That’s why he is disappointed that no one from his family stepped up to help him financially. He obviously cannot ask his brother Prince William since he has three kids to take care of!

    So basically, he wanted to live the same life and have the same high-class lifestyle that he has enjoyed as a prince without the responsibilities that came with it and he thought his father was going to help him out.

    Couldn’t he have asked the Queen for money, instead?

    The Accusations against Meghan

    Since Meghan joined the royal family, there have been countless accusations against her. In the Oprah interview, she was NOT asked about these accusations. She should have been asked since it’s not normal to have that many staff members, especially private secretaries and assistants, leave the job just a few months after working for Meghan and Harry. On top of trying to be different from the other royals, Meghan and Harry made the public mad when news of how much they spent to renovate their cottage came out. They said they were going to return the money from their own pockets.

    The Connection between Meghan and Princess Diana

    Prince Harry keeps comparing Meghan’s story with Lady Diana, which is not the same thing at all. Lady Diana was a naive 19-year girl who married a 30-something Prince who didn’t love her. That was why she felt all alone and suffered throughout her marriage. Meghan was 30-something when she met Prince Harry. She is an educated woman who went to university and traveled the world. She was also an actress for years so in a way, she struggled professionally before landing a secure gig on ‘Suits’ in her early thirties.

    The late Lady Diana suffered because of Prince Charles, not because the royal family was mean to her. Her husband wasn’t in love with her and she knew it, they all knew it. That’s why the public sympathizes with her because to them, she was such a good person and to receive that kind of treatment from Prince Charles and Camilla, that was what tortured her the most. This whole episode between them made Prince Charles the most hated royal member.

    Meghan and Harry claim that they want to continue their work of their public service, but how are they going to do that since they themselves said they don’t have any money? This is why they went out and got those expensive OTT deals to release content. And they are not living like commoners, they are still living like if they are members of the royal family, so the money has to keep coming in.

    No wonder he was already promoting Meghan while he was still a working royal. Remember at ‘The Lion King’ premiere in London when he was pitching Meghan’s talent to the producer?

      I am surprised that people in the world are not aware of how archaic the royals are do they seriously think the crown is how they actually are?. look at how edward v111 was treated post his exit for marrying a divorced American. They do a lot of cover up of their skeletons do you know prince charles produced a tv series to improve the image of Mountbatten when allegation of pedophilia surfaced against him which included south asians boys.

      Diana biggest fault was marrying at a very young age when she didnt know any better. Diana did suffered at the hands of the royals and charles because both expected her to put up with cheating while acting perfect in front of the world. Diana had a magnetic personality she was able to use it well which also added to charles and royals mistreating her because she was expected to walk behind charles when it comes to their marriage in public. Her master stroke was her interview before the divorce with bbc the royals had no idea about she essentially told the world charles is not fit to be king this impression has stayed on still.

      Post Diana death William chose the royal way but harry has always been acting out. Meghan is walking on the foot print which was set by diana how successful she is only time will decide. Meghan was a working independent media woman she is a survivor its harry who has survive the world and life without the benefits of being a royal.

      Wonderful write up. It is believed they walked away with millions and millions of dollars from “The Firm”. Oprah would not have given Meghan a second look if she is/was not married into the royal family. Oprah / Gayle do not mingle with a has been TV actor . Also , I found a constant need from the couple’s end to pitch Meghan inthe same breath as Princess Di. Meghan is no Princess Diana .And let’s not forget Princess Di was a bit cuckoo as well. Yeah! Royal family is racist (no doubt) but Meghan bhi koi dudh ki dhuli nahin hai. What’s laughable is Harry’s main concern was that he was cut off financially.
