Prevue: Jawan – Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Priyamani & Vijay Sethupathi

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ trailer is finally out!

The film will be released on September 7 in theatres making it the most awaited release this year since it’s coming after SRK’s biggest hit or rather India’s biggest hit, ‘Pathaan’.

In ‘Jawan’, which is directed by a famous Tamil film director Atlee, SRK left no stone unturned even announcing Deepika Padukone in a special appearance in the trailer’s end credits. Usually, special appearances are kept as a surprise but here SRK wanted to let everyone know in case they were having second thoughts on watching this film.

Nayanthara, Atlee’s favourite, is the heroine of this film and Vijay Sethupathi, our favourite, plays the villain. Sounds a bit similar to ‘Vikram’, doesn’t it? A tale of revenge!

Check out the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’:

The trailer doesn’t reveal much but if you are familiar with Atlee’s style of filmmaking then get ready to expect a potpourri! Other than Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi, the film also Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani and other actors in what seems to be a familiar supporting cast with known faces.

Rumour has it, other than Deepika, Sanjay Dutt and Thalapathy Vijay will make an appearance as well.

Based on the trailer or rather “prevue” like SRK is calling it, it seems there are so many shades of SRK here but at least, he’s not looking tired and homeless like he did in ‘Pathaan’.

    This looks familiar…

    Shah Rukh as a baldie…with also a thinner nose…

SRK as a young man…with VFX’s help, of course!

And did he want to have his moment like Joaquin Phoenix had his in ‘Joker’:

Nayanthara is making her big Hindi film debut with this film. It’s a pretty big deal, considering she has managed to last this long as one of the top actresses and she is making her debut in a film starring Shah Rukh!

Vijay Sethupathi appeared in ‘Farzi’, the Amazon Prime show, so we don’t know if his role in ‘Jawan’ can be called his first Hindi film. He was also in ‘Mumbaikar’, a JIO production film. Let’s just say, it’s his Hindi film debut on the big screen.

Honestly. ‘Pathaan’ is overrated. SRK did nothing in that film except the same acting, same mannerism, and same humour which makes him think he looks swag doing it.

So does ‘Jawan’ have something new to offer?

Yes, Nayanthara and Sethupathi! At least to us!

As usual, let’s go for a vote:
