Bollywood Blind Item – January 2018 9

When actresses in Bollywood are asked about whether something like the #MeToo campaign can happen in Bollywood, they always say it can’t. It will not happen, they say. Why? Because no actress, who is currently working in Bollywood, will want to destroy her career.

In Hollywood, this movement started and has been a success so far because the accused men were brought down by the men, who once enabled them to behave this way. In Bollywood, if it were to happen now, everyone will stand up for the accused and claim how much of a good man he is.

It can only happen if someone big brings the accused down. The blind item below is by SpotBoye and it talks about this director, who was in the news last year when a colleague accused him of molesting her. Despite the accusations, he is still able to work in Bollywood and what’s more, he got top stars to work with him.

So, in order to bring these perverts down in Bollywood, they all have to join hands and make it happen. Unfortunately, it won’t happy anytime soon as Bollywood people are going to stick to protecting each other and themselves against outsiders.

Check out the blind item below from SpotBoye.

Despite SEX SCANDAL, This Director Continues To EXPLOIT Women

He and his (in)famous ways grabbed a number of eyeballs last year. However, a little birdie tells us that this filmmaker refuses to change his ways and continues to take advantage of women

This director became the talk of the town when a sex scandal involving him was busted last year. Since then he has been lying low and is apparently concentrating’ on his upcoming venture. However, a little birdie tells us that despite his image taking a severe beating with the sex scandal, he has not changed his ways.

He continues to exploit women under the pretext of auditions and has been painting the town red. The filmmaker is seen with a new arm candy every other day. Talk of casting couch! What a shame!

A few industrywallahs are in the know about this filmmaker’s ways, but then, what can they do? Some people never change their colours. Isn’t it?

    Director: Vikas Bahl

    1. Notice how every top actress says ” she never faced it ” in all interviews. Even if some one says they had to deal with sexual harassment …they do not take names. Everyone knew who and how Harvey weinstein was…somehow one report gained traction and everyone are riding on it.
Yes, many producers are predators, but many wannabe actors offer sex upfront male/female even before any advances are made. I do not believe all these producer-Actors say.

    2. I had read he was dating an ad named chaitaly parmar after his marriage broke down. I thought chalo maybe his second marriage will work. Then i started reading that hes a big time womaniser. But if star wives dont have the guts to leave their husbands do, you really think working actresses will point out these criminals. Even in Hollywood it was mostly out of work actresses like rose mcgowan who took part in metoo. Working ones like jlaw Angelina emma, stone who pretend to be big feminists have not said a word. Nor has Hillary Clinton who was weinsteins best friend. Some feminism.

    3. admin:Does this only occur with outsiders or do industry walla’s(nepo kids etc) have to go through these disgusting acts at some point of time aswell?!

      1. I’m not admin but thot will say what I feel 😀 . I feel even nepo kids have to do this (maybe not all and maybe not as frequently) but they are more open to it because they know it comes with the territory.

    4. Now the #Metoo campaign is eating itself with the whole Aziz Ansari situation. The discussion has moved away to murkier grounds. I am afraid women are going down the wrong road where they appear “helpless” and not capable of “being responsible” people about the decisions and choices they make.

      1. What happned with Aziz Ansari situation? I was on a holiday for a while so not been catching up on news.

        1. Babe.net published an article about a woman who experienced a terrible date with him.

Everyone has a different opinion on the entire thing, he says it was consensual, she says he was moving too fast and pressuring her for sex. It’s murkey because some are saying even if he didnt do anything “legally wrong” its all because of the “rape culture” in that men are taught to be aggressive and women submissive.

Apparently many young, educated woman in America are not capable of saying or showing they dont want sex. It is really bizarre for me because I know exactly when I dont feel comfortable with or around a man. If I dont want physical contact – I dont end up at his apartment, drink his wine, remove my clothes, site on his kitchen counters, sit naked on his floor, receive and give oral sex or any such thing but maybe she does things differently. Tbh I am sorry to hear about her experience but I cant label him a Weinsten.

            1. @ Rad. If she was giving mixed signals then there are more reasons for Aziz to have doubts and stop his advances. The fact that people are on fence in this matter is a fact that there is no clear consent here.
He treated this lady as gatekeeper for the sex he was intending to indulge in and tried to coerce or manipulate her into it in-spite of her saying she is uncomfortable. That too when she is a stranger on first date. It does not matter what her body language says …when her words are ‘No’ … A person who wanted sex can misread signals to his/her convenience.
It may not be a sexual assault but it is a sexual ‘MISCONDUCT’.

Why did he make a move based on mixed signals, why did he pay head to her body language more than her words. Body language is just an indication…words are more resounding answers. He was just trying to get her say ‘YES’ for the sake of consensual sex to avoid the legal aspect….he did not seem to care for her clear consent at all.

          1. I disagree. Like Samantha bee said if u call yourself a feminist then f*** like a feminist. Otherwise dont pretend to be one just to get some free publicity from Liberal media.

    5. Everything that is applicable and said about BW is also true of HW. How is it that Harvey Weinstein was able to get away with it for so long? There was not even a tiny blot on him before this. Nobody came forward. Powerful women like Meryl Streep, who had she spoken out would have definitely been heard, is said to have known about it but desisted from coming fwd. Now that its become fashionable, everyone is either a victim or is vociferously supporting the ‘Me too’ campaign. Luckily some spark caught fire in HW so this came out. The chances of the same thing happening in BW is remote. And the way the criminals (read Salman) and guilty (read sexual predators) are supported blatantly, surely no woman will want to take the risk of getting on their wrong side.

      1. Forget meryl streep even Hillary Clinton who pretends to be a champion of women, knew about it and continued being best friends with weinstein as he donated big bucks to her campaign. This is the reality of these so called feminists like ben affleck and aziz ansari.

    6. The funniest thing is when Bollywood males tell the world that they are feminists and will defend the rights and opportunities of women, but these same males will always support another male if he is accused of sexual harassment (

    7. Problem is men exploit women but women don’t speak about it. The reason is: many are scared and many don’t want to lose these sugar daddies. if they do they will not be able to be a big shot. Importantly most of these actresses throw themselves and let men play with them only to get fame and become a star. Why newcomers succumb to these men for fame? Be it HW or BW all these women even male newcomers are ready to do ANYTHING to get fame. its time all people be it women or men should stop falling so low to get their way to fame. Trust yourself and your talent. Sooner or later you will fulfil your dream of being a star.

    8. It’s disgusting and infuriating how patriarchal and sexist this industry is. i’m waiting for the day when the Harvey Weinsteins of this industry will be called out and boycotted, but unfortunately, everything, from the award shows to the industry itself runs on money and contacts.

      1. It’s not about patriarchy, but about lack of self belief, and the easily replaceable nature of the job.

      2. If the whole country’s society is patriarchal, sexist and racist then why blame just Bollywood. We are all responsible for this sorry state of affairs.

        1. Of course we are but you’d expect a media industry i.e. Bollywood, which not only entertains but also educates the masses, to speak up against this issue. If you have to platform to speak up about something, you should.

But yeah, this doesn’t change the fact that our country is sexist.

    9. I kind of agree. I don’t think this movement will ever take place in Bollywood anytime soon. See, the problem in Bollywood is that everyone is entrenched in each other families or personal lives by marriage or business/financial relationship. Majority of the top roosting families are linked by marriage. Nepotism only makes it worse. So when one member of the fraternity is accused by someone, you immediately have their mamas, chachas, saas-sasurs, etc. speaking up for them. Aakhir yeh hamare parivaar/khandaan ki izzat ka sawal hain. It’s all about lending/taking favours. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.

The accused/perpetrator will call up his contacts and ensure that his contemporaries put out a statement supporting him (‘I am shocked, Bholu has always been respectful to my daughters. Main to usse bachpan se janta hoon. Yeh kabhi aisa nahin kar sakta”.) He will call up his casting contacts, etc. and ensure that the accuser will never be signed onto new projects, get kicked out. The contacts will comply because he is a big star or director/producer. The accuser loses his/her credibility, career and respect in society. Because of this a lot of victims keep quiet.

Nowadays the trend is what is going on with Vikas Bahl. The accused lie low for a while. Once the media attention shifts, and the heat is off they resume their operations.

Remember the TVF allegations early last year? Arunabh Kumar ka kya hua? He was asked to stay away from operations. In a news article it was stated that by the end of this year when he will reprise his role of Yogi in Pitchers 2 because the matter is also likely to cool down by then. Were there any legal proceedings? No. Because nobody came forward.

Shakti Kapoor ka 2005 casting couch scandal ka kya hua? Absolutely nothing. He worked in 10 movies the next year. Interestingly, the only people to speak against him were Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Preity Zinta and Amit Khanna. They asked the Film and TV Producers’ Guild at that time asked its members not to work with Shakti Kapoor. Interestingly, Chopra, Ghai and Zinta were named as those engaging in casting couch in the sting by Shakti. He was also caught on MTV Bakra in February, 2005 apparently touching the interviewer inappropriately.

What about allegations against Madhur Bhadarkar? Rakesh Roshan? Subhash Ghai? Sajid Khan? Dibakar Banerjee? Still pulling big banners, right?

      1. I bet everyone are in casting couch business.. None of them are going to come forward with accusations or support for victims…

    10. Even we need powerful media powerhouse like NY times to bring these people out in open with solid proofs… They should not succumb to any pressures… But, that is unlikely to happen as all the media houses are too dependent on stars and don’t do journalism in actual sense…

      1. NYT and nbc refused to carry ronan farrow’s expose on weinstein. It was the new york post that published his article.
