    Youngers - The Story

‘Youngers’ start off with the leads Yemi (Ade Oyefeso) and Jay (Calvin Demba). They are friends from school with Yemi being the smarter one. Yemi is also a great music producer and together with Jay, they make rap music in Yemi’s small bedroom in his family’s apartment. In comes Davina (Shavani Seth), who has a great singing voice and is also interested in making it in the music world like Jay is. Yemi has a crush on Davina, who has feelings for Jay, who happens to sleep around with every girl in his neighbourhood! The show has also interesting characters as well like Yemi’s hardworking and Jesus-loving mother and a short mafia guy, who also likes to rap.

    Yemi – Ade Oyefeso

    Yemi - Ade Oyefeso

Yemi is played by Ade Oyefeso, who speaks with a British accent throughout the show while his mother speaks in English with a heavy Ghanaian accent. Ade Oyefeso looks like your average boy, which helps the audience connect with his character in ‘Youngers’. Apparently, Ade has been inspired by Dev Patel when it comes to making it as an actor.

    Jay – Calvin Demba

    Jay - Calvin Demba

Jay is a baby face character played by Calvin Demba. I don’t know if it’s the way that Calvin looks, but Jay is quite adorable in ‘Youngers’. He’s the guy, who goes around with all the girls in the neighbourhood until he eventually falls in love with Davina. He’s a bit unlikeable at first, but as the episodes go on, his character becomes more and more adorable. It doesn’t hurt that Calvin Demba is a cutie as well!

    Davina – Shavani Seth

    Davina - Shavani Seth

Davina, played by Shavani Seth, is the only female lead in ‘Youngers’. The show revolves around the two guys, who like her a lot, and Davina too enjoys their company to the point where she hangs out in Yemi’s bedroom for the sake of creating a song together. In more ways than one, she is the glue that holds this group of three together. Or in the words of Ashley (Arinze Kene), she’s the magic of the group!

    Ashley – Arinze Kene

    Ashley - Arinze Kene

Ashley is the one, who realises that Yemi, Jay and Davina have what it takes to be musicians. Played by Arinze Kene, Ashley appears more and more handsome in every episode! Arinze Kene plays his character well and blends in quite extraordinary in a TV show filled with youngsters. It can be said that his character is like a parent to Yemi, Jay and Davina. He advises them and supports them because he believes in them.

    Bangs – Jay Brown

    Bangs - Jay Brown

Bangs, played by Jay Brown, is like this short gangster in ‘Youngers’. He usually beats down Jay every time he sees him because Jay cheated on Bangs’ sister. In the middle of season two, Bangs gets an entry in the music world, courtesy of Ashley. On the show, Jay Brown appears short. He gets better with every episode and in season two, he’s started looking quite handsome.
