When you have short-term memory,

But Google is here to remind you otherwise!

We are talking about this statement from Shahid Kapoor that caught us off guard today. Check it out below:

First of all, did IMDB even exist back then when Shahid Kapoor made his debut? Second of all, everyone knew at that time who he was. It was the main selling point of his debut film. The problem was youngsters back then didn’t even know who his parents were. We remember vividly how we told our lady whose son he was and she knew while we didn’t. Then, ‘Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon’ came out and Shahid’s father played Kareena Kapoor’s father in that film, that’s how we know who he was.

As you remember, Shahid and Bebola were dating at that time; that was basically his claim to fame. We wanted to confirm what we remembered because it cannot be that Shahid thought no one knew who he was until IMDB unveiled that fact. Thankfully, Google is here to help with these:

What he said about growing up is true because his parents weren’t the Bachchans and even Hrithik Roshan had a pretty normal childhood because his dad was not really someone famous. Also, Shahid is comparing then to now, which is not fair at all. As in, then when mobile phones with cameras didn’t exists, then when the internet was not really happening and then when the paps weren’t in the faces of stars following them and their families or when they get called to take candid pics of stars and their families. That was then and this is now.

Shahid gave this statement in a bid to show his annoyance and also how he is different from other star parents. To be fair, if he doesn’t want people to know who his daughter is, he and his wife can just stop sharing pictures of her on social media. They can also ask the paps nicely to stop taking pictures of the kid and they will oblige. But that’s not going to happen since we all know how showing off your kids is the new trend. How can Shahid and Mira hide their kid when Bebola is happily showing off Taimur? That’s the reality of it. He is right, it’s going to be hard for the kid, but at the end of the day, as a father, he has a choice; a choice that he always had but choose not to make. All these little kids, who are exposed publicly, are not going to have it easy as they grow up. Hopefully, their parents prepare them for what they are about to face when they start understanding what’s happening around them.

Did you notice he used to be addressed as ‘Kapur’ and over the years, it has changed to ‘Kapoor’? Even his dad today still a ‘Kapur’.
