Alia Bhatt’s first home production is here! Titled ‘Darlings’ (also what KebabJo calls her & Gauri!), Alia’s maiden production venture stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma & Roshan Mathew.

‘Darlings’ is like a comedy thriller but upon the first watch, we can’t help but wonder where we have seen a similar story before. It’s familiar, for some reason, especially that kidnapping then pretending the person is missing part.
Other than that, Alia has chosen competent actors to carry her first produced film and so far, it looks good. On the plus side, for her, ‘Darlings’ will be released on August 5 on Netflix and expect all the stars to applaud her performance on social media. If it’s really well-received, expect KJo to boast about it on KWK.
So…This is the kind of films Alia is going to do as her next phase comes in Bollywood. Obviously, she has to move to mature roles and ‘Gangubai’ was her first foray into that. She is at a stage where she is her own person now with her own fanbase so as long as her performances are good, there’s nothing to worry…but…that’s not really the case with her especially with KebabJo around. Looking at how her sis Pooja started young and retired young from the big screen, Alia’s journey is definitely going to be different and OTT has a big part to play in this.
Nothing much to see here. Let’s wait for ‘Darlings’ release on August 5.
