The list of who’s making the most money is out and this time, the focus is on the ladies of television. Compared to movies, television doesn’t pay much but bear in mind that it’s a steady paycheck. Right on top of this list is Sofia Vergara, who’s one of the actors in the superhit TV show, ‘Modern Family’.
Now, we have to point out here that Sofia being on top of this list doesn’t mean that she gets paid higher than her castmates. It’s not true at all, even though that’s what we thought at the beginning. She’s the highest because of the endorsement deals that she has going. Her being number one reminds us of the time Eva Longoria was number one. Eva too was part of a huge star cast on the then-hit TV show, ‘Desperate Housewives’. She too made it big then with endorsements.
Aside from Sofia, there’s ‘The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco. This show is something that we don’t understand and since we don’t understand it, we don’t get what’s the big deal about it. Like with ‘Friends’, you saw its universal appeal but with TBBT, it’s hard to see what the fuss is all about. Kaley earns more than Sofia per episode on her show.
Another actress, who’s on this list, from ‘Modern Family’ is the very talented Julie Bowen. The only black actress on this list is Kerry Washington, who’s the lead actress of the hit TV show ‘Scandal’ and since the show is ending soon, this might just be her last appearance on this show until she signs another TV show.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo and ‘The Mindy Project’s Mindy Kaling are on the same spot. If you don’t know, Mindy’s show was cancelled by her network and she found another home for it on Hulu. We are going to be honest, we used to watch this show until it just got boring and predictable. As soon as any show we watch gets predictable, we stop watching.
The amazing frozen face Robin Wright from ‘House of Cards’ is also on this list while there’s also another foreign entry in the form of Priyanka Chopra for ‘Quantico’. Priyanka has been everywhere on American TV trying to promote herself and her show. She has been dabbling in movies as well because it seems that she wants to secure a career in the west. If all goes well for her, she might just stick to it there either doing movies or TV shows or both.
It would be interesting to see how much does the men get paid because for them, we are sure they don’t get to secure endorsement deals like these ladies do. With the amount that they probably get to make from acting alone, we doubt they need to go out and find brands to endorse.
