Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is an American manufacturer of stringed instruments and amplifiers with its headquarters based in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. Founded in Fullerton, California in 1946 by Clarence Leonidas “Leo” Fender, the company was originally named the Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company. The company initially offered the first mass-produced solid-body Spanish-style electric guitar, the Telecaster, the fist mass-produced electric bass, the Precision Bass (P-Bass), and the Stratocaster (Strat) guitar.
