All film promotions now have to end up in London with a London premiere. ‘Student of the Year’ was the first film from Karan Johar in which he directed for the first time ever three newcomers: Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. It would have been nice if the newcomers were all unknown actors, not star kids. But that’s the way the industry works these days.
