Freida Pinto became the first Indian to ever host the Vanity Fair pre Oscar party, which is basically part of the Campaign Hollywood leading up to the Oscars. Usually, everyone of the who’s who attend the Vanity Fair bash as it’s the place to meet up and make some important contacts, not to mention the free food and booze that they will get there. It is also the 100th anniversary of Vanity Fair. The event was also to highlight the issue of the girl child and the importance to educate children, a cause that is supported by both Freida and the magazine. A couple of years back, Freida was a guest herself for the first time at this bash and now, she’s the host; quite a long way she came.
