Bollywood Blind Item – June 2020 – 11
This is the biggest worry of every industry producer ever since this pandemic broke out in India and stopped everything. Every producer whose film was supposed to be released some months ago is worried about how soon their films can be released.
This particular film in the blind item was supposed to be released around the time the lockdown started. It’s been almost 3 months so you can imagine the toll this has taken on its producers.
Speaking of toll, the producer of this film recently tested positive for Covid-19 and has been admitted to be treated. That’s a really harsh situation to be in on top of worrying about the company’s financial situation.
Hopefully, the wait will be worth it but it still won’t happen for another couple of months or so. The producers didn’t want to release the film online so they have no other choice but to wait until things calm down to release their film.
In the meantime, check out the blind item from Mumbai Mirror. It will be interesting to see how the aftermath of this pandemic changes marketing and promotions of movies. Nothing will be the same again, no more extravagant promotions.
A mega-budget film that was to release a couple of months ago has been stalled due to the lockdown. The producers plan to release it a few months after cinemas open, only so they can clock in the profits they hope to make. However, the delay is costing them dearly.
We hear the producers are paying interest on their loan to the tune of Rs 2 crore a month. If the film gets delayed by 10 months, they will end up paying Rs 20 crore over and above the film’s estimated production and marketing costs. Let’s hope for a blockbuster.
