Bollywood Blind Item – June 2019 – 5

There can be no other film that matches the below blind item other than this recently released superstar’s film. It doesn’t fully match the blind item, but it is about this film.

Though what the blind item is saying is not entirely wrong, it seems they made it up based on the news that this superstar was not OK with the length of this film. He asked the director to cut it, but the director refused hence he was kicked out of the superstar’s home. This was literally how the papers reported this!

So, this BI got it from this news and made up the whole blind item. The film has performed quite well and is his biggest opening yet. It might end its run as a 200 crore film at the box office as it’s slowly climbing up from 150 crore. The film’s budget is 100 crore so they have recovered their investment already.

Strangely, it has quite an average rating on IMDB. The movie is decent, better than expected but might be too long for his fans who are used to his style of films. This is a bit different, but not as different as the other film he did, which was a huge flop and disappointment to him.

Hats off to this director for daring to stand up against this superstar considering how it is also the superstar’s brother-in-law’s production.

Check out the blind item below from Mumbai Mirror. Have you seen the film yet?

Bollywood Blind Item

A RECENTLY release that has opened to lukewarm to snooze reviews isn’t in the mood to go down in history as a damp squib. The makers are trying to salvage the film. We hear they had planned a re-edit, to shorten the film’s sonorous length down to a more acceptable size.

But then they were duly informed that a reedit meant they would have to submit to the Censor Board once again and ask for another certificate. Too much in the public eye, no? So now they have decided to let the film carve its own destiny, for better or worse.
