Bollywood Blind Item – July 2019 – 13

You might not know who this blind item is about. We don’t blame you since the news of this movie came out almost a year ago. Last we heard of it was probably late last year and until now, nothing has been decided.

Here’s the thing, how do they know this movie requires 300 crore to be made without having a script in place? Did they just decide this based on the idea they had or based on the number of VFX and foreign experts they would need for the film?

300 crore is a lot, more than ‘Baahubali’ and a little less than Shankar’s ‘2.0’. Unless, this is a Hollywood production, which means 300 crore is nothing to them so it makes sense. But as far as Bollywood goes, they won’t invest that much money, let alone half of that money on a film whose leading actor is a lady. It doesn’t matter if she is a top star, this has yet to happen.

Probably, Kangana Ranaut was the last female lead actor to have a film that cost more than 100 crore to make, but even that it was due to the re-shoots they had to do and all that.

If this actress really does want to make this film, then she most probably have to secure the money herself. This explains why she has been turning producer, she wants to get into that world.

Let’s see if they are able to get this thing going. At this point, they don’t even have a script. The idea of this film was probably announced to see if people get excited and if they can get the funding from somewhere.

Check out the blind item below from Mumbai Mirror.

Bollywood Blind Item

A leading film actor had announced a superhero film last year. The film – announced close on the heels of the actor’s biggest blockbuster till date – was said to be on a gargantuan budget of Rs 300 crore.

But it’s been over a year since news of the film broke, and we hear there is no script ready yet. The makers seem to have quietly shelved the project for another smaller but more lucrative film.
