Bollywood Blind Item – January 2020 – 8
This actor, as mentioned in the blind item, has struggled for some time after his first film before getting a foothold in this industry.
Technically, he didn’t struggle in the sense that he didn’t get work. It was more of the accolades, fame and popularity that he was looking for. Plus, there’s also the opportunity of working with filmmakers he dreamed of.
He started out as a TV VJ/host and got the lead in this beefcake’s actor first home production. The film was a huge hit but the actor ended up with a couple of flops afterward.
But…If the blind item below is true, it’s a bit strange. First of all, how does he think he is better than this veteran actor? Second, most young actors would love to work with this veteran star, who’s a legend himself. So why and how can this young actor think he can play a double role in this film? Why the sudden greed? Does he want another National Award?
Only he knows. He has certainly come a long way and it’s all about making the right decisions and creating a niche for himself. The real test begins now, he increased his fee and there’s a lot more expectations from him.
If he refused this film, let’s hope he doesn’t hijack this story and make a movie on this!
Check out the blind item below from PinkVilla. By the way, this film is a nice family film with a twist. Reminds us of that foreign film where the kid takes his parents to court for giving birth to him. It’s not the same, obviously, but…
This Gen Y star wanted to replace a veteran actor and play both son & father in a remake
Actors being insecure isn’t a new thing in Bollywood. But with the younger crop of actors, one can comfortably say that they are more collaborative in their effort. But recently, one star’s tantrums have been the talk of the town.
The actor, who has struggled to make his mark in the first few years, has now become a prominent face in the industry. People who have known him all this while are now surprised at his demands.
Recently, it was announced that a filmmaker is remaking one of his films in Hindi, that happens to be in a particular regional language. The story happens to be a father-son relationship story and the filmmaker has already locked a veteran star who would be playing the father’s role.
He had then approached this Gen-Y star to play the son’s role. He liked the concept, given its fresh take on human relationships, but he asked the director to give him some time to get back.
The actor discussed with his team who then told the filmmaker about a really unexpected condition that he had placed in order to sign the project. Our star made it very clear that he would give his nod, only if the older actor was replaced and he was given the chance to play both the roles – that of the son as well as the father.
He also reasoned that given the kind of films he’s doing lately, the audience will also expect a surprise and they will be pleasantly stunned if he played both the younger and the older characters himself. This demand threw the filmmaker and the production house off their ground.
The older actor happened to be his first and only choice for the father’s role because the director doesn’t want to make the film without him and he told the star’s team that he wouldn’t be able to accommodate his demands at all. Such is the state of affairs today.
Actor: Ayushmann Khurrana
Veteran Star: Amitabh Bachchan
Rishi ji has been approached for the Hindi remake of a Bengali film. It’s a relationship drama called Posto and the filmmaker Shiboprosad Mukherjee wants only Rishi to step into Bengali superstar Soumitra Chatterjee’s role in the film. Rishi has also loved the concept and given a go ahead to it. They are now locking the other actors. Neetu Kapoor has also been offered the film. She will be playing the lead opposite Rishi ji, playing his wife in the movie. She’s the emotional anchor to the story, which is about a legal case that a grandfather files against his own son to get custody of their grandchild.
