Bollywood Blind Item – December 2019 – 14
Many young actors when they make their debut, they want to do meaningful cinema. As their careers grow and they get recognition through that one hit, they start to feel the need to reach out to a larger audience and the way to do that is through commercial cinema.
Many actors have successfully made that transition but many more have not been able to do so. The actor in the blind item below has had a few successful movies where his talent was recognized and appreciated. Sure getting that prestigious award did help push him out there, but nothing did it more than the 2 commercially hit films he was part of.
Since then, the actor has been continuously working but most of his films did not really achieve the success that he thought they would. Now, is it a matter of luck or did he choose bad projects?
Even though his films have not been successful, he still keeps on getting films because there are directors and producers out there, who believe in his talent. He must be really puzzled as to how his films are not really working when his contemporary has been getting hits after hits even though he might not be as versatile as he is in acting.
Check out the blind item below from SuperCinema. By the way, saw two of his films last year. Both of which did not work at the box office. He was good in them and the story was OK too. Maybe he does not have that strong of a box office appeal to attract a bigger audience.
This actor who was on everybody’s to-watch-out-list for a few years now has had a horrid last year. His films have not really worked and he needs a new push in his career. He has generally shied away from looking at movies which are too overtly commercial but the actor is looking to change that.
According to our sources the actor has told his team that he wants to pick few commercial and low-risk movies for his next ones and generally wants to take his career in a new direction altogether. Let’s hope he does find what he is looking for because talent like his needs to be front and centre and performing rather than getting wasted contemplating.
Actor: Rajkummar Rao
