It’s hard to say whether the blind item below is true or not. Still, we are going to go with #fakenews. See, this actor has been dying to do another film for this franchise. He has been after this director for a long time now, but the director himself was bitten by the acting and singing bug so he didn’t want to immerse himself in writing another film . There was also the issue of this actor and his female co-star in the film. Two years ago or so, when the actor was eager to do another film, he was still on good terms with his co-star. So much so that he even let her borrow his jacket on a cold night (wink-wink).

For over a year now, the actor and actress have not been on talking terms and everyone assumed that the franchise is dead and there’s no coming back from that. Honestly though, they should have killed off her character in the first one. The only reason they retained her for the second part was because she became even more famous by the time they had to shoot the film. Still, if they retain both of characters then it will become another ‘Dhoom’ and you know what people say about Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra’s roles right? That they are not good cops because in every film from that franchise they were unsuccessful in catching the thieves.

So, if they had a new leading lady for every film in this franchise, it will make the films even more interesting. The first one was good, it was fresh for movie fans who have not seen the original one. The actor and actress both looked really good in the first one.

The second one felt forced. Like the director was expected to write the film and direct it just to please the actors and fans. The lead actor was a huge letdown in the second part, that’s how we felt. He went a bit over in portraying his character. Now, the actor is busy doing all sorts of things, like a headless chicken; trying this or that, chasing that box office hit like crazy.

If the blind item ends up as being true, then they should do a completely new one: new story from scratch, new actors and other new things. It’s like they did with ‘X-Men’. It will be interesting to see if this director/actor dares to take this film to another actor. Don’t one will dare to cross this actor, especially at this stage of his career.

It’s better they don’t continue with this franchise unless they start afresh again. Speaking of starting afresh, the actress is back on Mumbai soil with her alleged new boy to supposedly introduce him to her family. Do you think she brought him or he wanted to come? The franchise apparently has been on hold because of the fallout between the superstar and actress of the film which resulted in the producers of the film putting the next installment of the film on hold. But, now the banner also does not really have a good slate and the writer-director and actor of the film has finished writing the film and wants to take it on the floor. The superstar has also got busy experimenting with cinema which has not had worked for him.

This iconic character is something people identify with him which actually is borrowed from another superstar of the ’70s. We hope the superstar realises that fans love seeing him in such films and prevents the makers from going to another actor and grab the chance to become the iconic character which has gone missing for nearly seven years.
