Blind Item – January 2018 – Bollywood 10

Imagine this scenario: you want to be a actor and you have the talent to make it. You struggle for years, playing small roles here and there and when you got lucky, you featured in some superstar’s film where your 5 or 10-minute role got noticed.

Finally after years of struggling, some small-time director took notice of your talent and launched you in a solo hero film that went on to get you your first award and that too, a National Award. Other artsy director followed suit and this resulted in many more art and less commercial films. Your performances in all these films were raved and critics just loved you.

You start getting small-budget commercial films and you are still getting artsy films by the side. Now what happens in this industry is that sometimes projects get delayed and sometimes projects get released before time. As an actor, you don’t have control over this because you are no big superstar, who can control the release date of your films.

Still, you are thankful that you are getting offers and you just continue to be honest about your work and work hard to make your performances matter. Now after years after struggling and working hard, you finally get notice not just by the audience and critics, but also by other actors, especially actors whose work you have greatly admired. Now, that is something, isn’t it?

Not really. Now, there’s the matter of too much exposure! See, you were everywhere and everyone were talking about you and now, producers are thinking that you are way too exposed and are thinking twice about casting you in their films.

Sad, but true! He’s good at his job and as long he is able to justice to his roles, he’s fine. That said, what happened last year wasn’t his fault. He himself said it in an interview last year that he didn’t have control over when his films released. If he wished, he would have slotted them out better because some of his films went unnoticed at the box office.

Bollywood Blind Item

‘Over exposure’ costs this talented Bollywood actor two films!

One would have thought that filmmakers would make a beeline for this young powerhouse performer after his fabulous run last year. However, that is not the case. It seems the actor’s presence in a number of projects in 2017 is proving costly for him. Filmmakers who are keen to have him in their projects are facing opposition from producers. It seems many industry folks feel that he has over exposed himself. Now, you cannot blame the actor if his projects released in the same year but clearly it is affecting his future. And buzz is that he has already lost out on a couple of films.

Well, the lean actor who was apparently the first choice for projects being made by a top production company. However, the head honcho feels the actor was seen too much in 2017 and wants to opt for another young actor who stood out brilliantly in a small-budget award-winning thriller film, which was one of the ‘gems of 2017’. The actor who is being considered as current best choice has also had a stint on TV. For the other project, he is thinking of a tall and muscular young actor who also proved his acting chops with his first film.

Now, we cannot but feel bad for this actor. There is no doubt that he is one of the best in the acting business. And over exposure sounds shallow when a top superstar himself works in three to four films in a year!
