Do you remember Amar Singh? Or better yet, do know who Amar Singh is? If you don’t, let us tell you. He used to be Siamese twins with the Bachchans, especially Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan. You might remember him more from the time that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai got married and they went to the Cannes Film Festival together. He was a fixture in their public outings as a family. He helped get Jaya Bachchan into the political party that he’s in and eventually managed to get her a seat in parliament. He was even one of the reasons why Abhishek didn’t tie the knot with Karishma Kapoor. He barked at Khalid Mohammed, who was the editor of Filmfare magazine, on behalf of the Bachchans. He did so much for them that they considered him family and he too as well.

 

Out of nowhere, suddenly, Amar Singh was kicked out of the Bachchan family. He was no longer hanging out with them and was also out of the political party he was once in. That was a long time ago and when that happened, he let out a few things about the Bachchan family. For starters, he said that Jaya was very bitter about the way her life shaped up. She was angry and didn’t think that certain roles that Amitabh did in his career were that big of a deal as the media and industry people portrayed it to be. For instance, Amar Singh mentioned when Amitabh was being praised for ‘Black’, Jaya said she did the same kind of movie during her time, so what was the big deal about this one! He also mentioned how Amitabh begged him to get Jaya a seat in parliament as she has nothing else to do and this seat will be the one thing that will occupy her time.

He’s still pretty much pissed today, as he just randomly puts in the Bachchans in every interview he does. But the Bachchans on their part have stayed quiet on everything Amar Singh has said in the past and they are expected to remain quiet over these secrets he just let out too. He mentioned once that he can’t believe he was kicked out just like that when he had such high regard for the Bachchans. He spent more time with them than he did with his own family. He has a wife and daughters and regrets that he wasted all these years and all that time with the Bachchans when the only ones standing by him today are his wife and daughters. In an interview today when asked about problems in his political party, Amar Singh went on a rant and mentioned other problems that he’s held responsible for. Amar Singh on the Bachchans seniors not living together

People blame me for every possible rift in the country. When the Ambanis split, they projected me as the person who created the Mahabharat between them. It wasn’t me. People have said the same about me and the Bachchans. But even before I met Amitabh Bachchan, he and Jaya Bachchan were living separately. One of them was living in Pratiksha and the other lives in his other bungalow Janak.
