Akshay’s Rustom wins the box office battle compared to Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro

In the box office battle that everyone was looking forward to since the battle of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Dilwale’, it seems that ‘Rustom’ may have won the battle, but it doesn’t mean that the film got back its investments. Still, it’s not a disaster like Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’. It seems that even Hrithik’s dad, Rakesh Roshan, knew the film was going to flop big time. See, when Rakesh saw it before the previews were supposed to be held for friends, family and film critics, he thought that it would be a bad idea if these people saw the film before it releases in theatres. Hrithik’s dad didn’t want bad WOM (word of mouth) to go around that would have affected the film’s opening at the box office. Well, it seems even that didn’t help as the film did get a bad WOM from those, who went to see it on the Friday that it released.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ seems to have had a better opening and strangely, he also had supporters from the industry supporting his film over Hrithik’s film. We knew from the beginning that the main problem with ‘Mohenjo Daro’ was the fact that Hrithik took too much money to do this film. His salary for ‘Mohenjo Daro’ was half of the film’s budget, which explained the bad VFX that the film had. Even the setting was panned by film critics. We don’t know why Hrithik suddently felt the need to ask for this much money to do this film. He should have known that this would happen. It’s almost a week now since both films have been released in cinemas, check out their box office collections so far.
