A successful Bollywood actress on Bollywood perverts
So Telegraph newspaper apparently got in touch with a successful Bollywood actress, who didn’t want to be named but ended up telling them about how Bollywood and its perverts prey on young actors. You can check out what this actress said below, but the question is: who is this successful Bollywood actress? Now you all know how these foreign media outlets think any actress is successful. Heck, they even named Zarine Khan as one of the top Bollywood actresses. First, check out what this actress had to say about the Bollywood creeps:
“There’s not just one Weinstein in Bollywood, the entire industry is full of them — and they protect each other. It’s a totally closed shop,” a successful Bollywood actress, who did not want to be named, said.
“Of course we are all terrified to speak out about it — and that’s why it perpetuates. We know that we may never work again if we rock the boat. Look at what’s happening to Tanushree — she’s getting death threats and slut-shamed — who’s going to cast her now?”
She explained that hundreds if not thousands of vulnerable women arrive in Mumbai each week dreaming big. “The casting couch for many producers basically means they can do what they want with a girl and no questions are ever asked,” she said.
“If they don’t acquiesce, they don’t get the role. What’s needed now is for some huge stars to talk about the abuse they have suffered themselves to get to the top, perhaps a list of the main abusers to be circulated — and for someone to be taken down, like Weinstein was.”
Whatever she is saying is true because that’s how Bollywood works. It’s why many Bollywood stars are staying quiet. They know if they speak out, someone will turn around and accuse them of some form of sexual harrasment. Tanushree Dutta broke that barrier and now many women are talking. Hopefully, the young male actors will speak also as they too have been victims of couch casting. If only the yesteryear actresses would speak out, that would be quite something. So many of them suffered quietly, it’s sad!
Back to this actress, who do you think she is? Someone, who is successful: it means she is still working, but not as a lead actress. She is successful, which indicates she is getting roles. She cares about getting work since she seems to know and understand that no one will take Tanu in their films anymore. She wants big female stars to talk about it hence indicating that she is not one herself. So, who is this actress? We don’t know why, but the names that came to mind while reading that statement was Shilpa Shetty and Ameesha Patel. Ameesha does not quite look like someone, who would say this these days, but Shilpa? Yes, could be.
Who do you think this is?
