2 Broke Girls, American Crime, The Catch, Last Man Standing and many more TV Shows canceled

Several TV shows have failed to be renewed for another season. Some of these shows have been around for a long time, some of them are really good shows and some of them just didn’t know where to go. From the list below, we have glanced at some of these TV shows including ‘2 Broke Girls’, ‘American Crime’, ‘The Catch’, and ‘Last Man Standing’. We wonder how it’s like for long-running shows and its cast. Don’t they wish their show get canceled so that they can move on to other things? When they shoot for season one, they are praying that the show gets a season two. When that happens, they are happy. Then, the show keeps on getting renewed for season 3, 4 and 5, and at this point, they probably start hoping that it doesn’t get renewed anymore. Not only are they tired of playing the same character and working with the same crew for the last 6 years, the audience is also tired of seeing them in the same thing. Not every show can have the same run as ‘Friends’ did. These days, the stakes are higher and people get bored quicker. Not every TV show that has been canceled stays canceled forever. There is a huge chance of another network picking up the series like in the case of ‘Nashville’ and ‘The Mindy Show’.

The most interesting TV show from this list is ‘American Crime’, which had 3 seasons. What’s special about this show is that every season is different, but with the same cast. A different and well-told story for each season played by the same actors, but only in different characters. Starring Regina King, Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, Lili Taylor and Richard Cabral, ‘American Crime’ was quite a huge favourite at TV award shows with many nominations and several wins. It’s quite slow and has a different way of filming. It takes you a while to get used to the way the camera shoots the scenes, but you will get used to it. Like ‘The Killing’, even though it’s slow, it’s still a show worth watching.

The show that had to go was definitely ‘2 Broke Girls’. On the show, the characters are doing well now and are no longer struggling. At the beginning, the show was quite new with its one-liners type of jokes and it’s probably a first time for us to hear lead actresses this young to speak the way they did on this show. Now it’s been 6 years and the jokes get harder to understand. You can see the writers are trying and you can even see how the actresses are struggling to make it look like this show is what they want to do. It’s like their enthusiasm to work on this show is just decreasing, which is understandable considering how it’s been 6 years since they started to work on this show that is neither popular or happening; it’s just a known show.

‘Last Man Standing’ was a nice comedy show about this family that consisted of 4 ladies and one man (the father). It’s a show that’s not afraid to bring up current political situations with the characters speaking openly on what they really think of politicians. It does feel a bit overstretched at times, but Tim Allen does keep the show going with his sense of humour that coincidentally reminds us of our late grandfather! Jay Leno has come out of retirement to appear in a few episodes. We have yet to watch the latest episodes to see what how they deal with the whole ‘Trump is the new U.S. President situation’.

As for ‘The Catch’, Mireille Enos deserved better than this crap that Shonda Rhimes gave her. At this point, Shonda’s shows seem to run on hype more than anything else. Storylines are weak and graph of the show’s episodes is even worst. When you have great actors, you should give them good content to work with. Otherwise, the shows end up looking weak. It’s the same with Viola Davis in ‘How to get away with Murder’, she can do so much better than this show. ‘The Catch’ was supposed to be something else and turned out to be anything else, but that something else. Got it? Neither did we. Just watch a couple of first episodes, you will understand what we are saying. Go back and see Mireille Enos’ best work, which is in ‘The Killing’.
