We are sure Rajkumar Hirani has never worked with Rishi Kapoor. He has worked with Sanjay Dutt and Aamir Khan, though, so this interview might be directed at them. Recently, Rajkumar Hirani came out to say how Ranbir Kapoor is such an easy actor to work with compared to other actors. It’s not a surprise considering how no other directors have complained about Ranbir’s behaviour. It’s nice of Ranbir to behave differently from how his father behaved and still behaves. Rishi Kapoor is not an easy man to live with or to work with. Ranbir said himself how he saw his father’s behaviour and tried his best to not be the same. Thankfully, Rajkumar didn’t work with Ranbir before he shot for ‘3 Idiots’. If you remember, ‘PK’ was meant to be Ranbir’s film. Aamir heard the script, he decided that he was a better option for ‘PK’ than Ranbir. This is why as a peace offering Rajkumar offered Ranbir a small part at the end of ‘PK’ and promised him ‘Dutt’. Ranbir had second thoughts on doing ‘Dutt’, but he just caved in and started working quietly. By the way, his dad too had to go through the same type of make-up when he shot for ‘Kapoor and Sons’. Unlike Ranbir, Rishi was so annoyed and kept fighting with the director. It’s probably why Rajkumar is surprised and if he had worked with Ranbir before he worked with Aamir, he probably would have taken him for ‘PK’ instead of taking Aamir. Here’s Rajkumar in his own words.

Rajkumar on Ranbir’s working ethics
The only thing I can say is Ranbir, who is depicting Sanjay Dutt from the age of 20 to 55, has a lot of different get-ups. He has to wake up at 3 AM and then has to sit patiently for 5 hours for his make-up and then work rigorously for 12 hours. I have never seen Ranbir coming late to the set on a single day or complaining about anything or giving excuses to leave from work. I am having absolute joy and I am really enjoying making this film. It is a pure joy to make films, if we have actors like Ranbir Kapoor.
