OSOP is not for the faint-hearted

OSOP is not for the faint-hearted

We have decided to address this issue with all the readers of OSOP. At first, we thought that perhaps we shouldn’t as this is our site, but in respect to everyone who has spent their time reading the content right here, we decided that it’s best that we address this issue upfront. First of all, OSOP is not for the faint hearted.

For all of you, who are familiar with our writing style of OSOP, you know very well what to expect. We would just like to say that if you don’t like the content of OSOP and don’t share the same understanding and sense of humour as we do, it’s best that you don’t waste your time here. Understanding the content is key and if you are not happy, don’t waste your time.

We have managed to create content in our signature style that some readers have greatly appreciated. At the end of the day, we want everyone who come on OSOP to have a good time away from the stress of their lives. If you can’t feel that and feel offended by what we are sharing and posting here, then we think it’s best that you don’t waste your time here.

Contrary to popular belief, we do not create content just shock readers and be unique. What we are writing is how we are feeling. It’s just that we are not those, who will bow down to celebrities or praise them to the sky. This is as real as it can get and we understand that by doing so, we are upsetting fans, but at the same time we are sure there are others too who see what we are trying to project.

This is what we want to tell everyone, who is passing by OSOP and it’s from the heart so please don’t take it with a pinch of salt. We have and had no intention of hurting the feelings of the readers, many of whom English is not their first language hence the misunderstanding of our content.

For everyone that feels that we have insulted them, we apologise deeply for any misunderstanding.

Thank you to all those, who have spent their time on OSOP and have continued doing so. We appreciate it.

God bless everyone and have a nice day.

    1. Hi Admin, long time lurker here. Delurking to say that I love your site, your pithy introductions and the snark… I love the snark. Please do not let haters detract from the juicy gossip… there are many of us who may not be able to comment but do appreciate you all.

      1. Before we are done for the day, we want to thank everyone again for their support and those, who have commented just to make us feel better. Have a good night and God bless.

    2. I for one really do enjoy the humour and the admin comments before the actually blind. Somehow we seem to think alike and I find myself agreeing with the comments. Also my comments actually go through immediately and I have problem with that aspect, unlike other sites. I always come to this site. I try to do so on a daily basis and I think I have been long enough on the internet to not be faint hearted because the truth is there is going to be people out there who aint gonna think like you, whose idols will not be yours and you need to understand them and not have an argument, to each their own. I am a proud east indian follower all the way in the Caribbean (Trinidad & Tobago). Keep up the great job in keeping me in the know.

    3. Thanks admin for the hard work and effort put into this site. As I said in an earlier post the writing style is witty and sarcastic, with a touch of dark humour . I enjoy reading the posts and the commentary that goes with it. I agree with Ananya in saying that I don’t feel you are biased and call a spade a spade.

    4. Hey OSOP, I personally enjoy your content, its like a daily dose ;-), However, I feel surprised on some comments they take it so personally using harsh words. At the most we can just suggest if one want to differ. But using foul language is disrespectful. But I appreciate admin, the way you handle situation without loosing your cool. Keep rocking OSOP

    5. Hey admin, you are doing good and be proud of it. Your brief outlook on a blind before you share the blind, your sarcasm is what makes your site stand out. You clearly points out if a blind is fake or not. I rely on your opinion when a blind comes out bz I know you’ll be upright and honest. Never lose that face.

One more thing was the healthy conversations and debates that happen in comment section. I think you’ve had some real and good readers with opinions.

But of late there is too many negative readers or paid or blind fanatics who is spoiling the environment. I see you getting bashed as being against Hrithik, Kat, Rk, Sushant to name a few. And as being biased to Kangana, Deepika, Ranveer, Priyanka. But truth is, I’ve seen you picking up on the latter members and standing up for the former ones where its due. And that’s why I feel it’s an unbiased site.

You have your opinion and you are firm on it but polite. Your readers were as well. But lately there is an attempt to turn this fresh site into a pv comment box. Many people like me left other such sites bz of this negativity. You have a grip as of now. So I would suggest, if you can by any means bring a censor, at least to paid pr comments or abusive blind fan comments, you will not loose your site to be another pinkvilla.

But that aside, what you’re doing with your website is great. Keep going no matter the negativity and accusations.

For those accusers, I always had a lower esteem for Katrina just based on her actions ( not as any other actor or actress fan). I still don’t like her but after coming to this site, I’ve got to know more about her past. And that has made me ease out with most things about her. I’ve got a new perception of her, from here. I may not like her but I understand her a bit now, why she is the way she is.

Also Srk, Hrithik, Aamir, Rk an all have been moved from a moral pedestal in my perception. I don’t worship them but there was a sense of respect for the ‘image’ they portrayed. That is erased and I see them as humans with flaw which is natural.

So this site enables you to see what it is, as it is. Kindly try to understand this fact and be open to the flaws of your fave or take the blinds with a pinch of salt. Don’t believe what you don’t want to, defend justify but don’t abuse and accuse or put down another to show your fave higher. That’s not how it is done darlings. Give and take respect. Let’s keep this place clean.

      1. Well, Ananya, thank you for taking the time out and commenting such a lengthy way. You didn’t leave anything behind and pretty much addressed every issue that OSOP has been faced for quite some time. Thank you for the support. 🙂

    6. I have to agree with the admin; the conversations in the comments section have lately become sour. I personally like the website for its content. It is a refreshing change from some of the paid content available out there.
Fans who vociferously defend their fav stars by belittling others, I just want to say that in my opinion, there is no way that is correct. All the stars are humans, even if we treat stars esp. from foreign countries like deities. All of them are prone to fallacies. They also started with the dreams of glitz and glam, but are paying a heavy price for it. Under all this pressure and facade, it is likely that they commit errors. So if the blinds reports something about them, that just makes the stars seem more humane, which is not really wrong because no one really asked us to treat them like gods.
When I read the blinds about Aamir Khan (my favourite actor) even I was shocked. But I separated his personal shenanigans from his stellar professional career. I request you to do the same. Because you never know the human nature of these deities (I think ‘Fan’ is a good example of that, though I haven’t watched the film).
So take a chill pill and enjoy reading and watching the films. No need to get worked up 🙂

    7. In india the biggest talent of people is to get offended by any possible thing. So no matter what u do ppl will gt offended. So let ppl talk, i dnt think there is a need of justification.
Big fan (posting a comment fr first time)

    8. Please continue to write as you do admin – I stopped reading Pinkvilla for a couple of reasons and hope your site never turns into any of those. Of course content is in your hands and I agree with your frank take on Bollywood. And why not keep it real? They are actors/celebrities at the end of the day providing entertainment – not doctors or firefighters saving lives that we put them on such a pedestal. Hence I like certain actors/actresses but am not an avid fan of any of them. The other reason are comments. And unfortunately there will be negativity or even trolls on any site. I agree with your take as much as it’s easy to do as PV does and censor comments (thus creating negativity and fueling “feuds” between actors), you do not as you have decided to keep freedom of speech here. Personally I don’t like the negativity and like to keep the objective view of these blinds. And c’mon people! This is Bollywood – why so serious? All these blinds should be taken with a grain of salt anyways. I read this site as a form of entertainment as I have no relation to any celebrity. Anyways, TLDR keep doing you admin as it is your site after all and if some readers don’t agree, they can always go to another forum or create their own 😉

      1. Same thought… I read the posts on this website during my leisure time and just to entertain my brain before I begin work for the day.. No specific interest towards any actor that I should feel the posts are bias upon… Nevertheless, keep the posts coming and also those preface blinds.. Btw I’m an avid blindgossip.com reader as well..

    9. I really like the preface to the blind from the admin. for me this pleasure. I like the opinion of the administrator before the blind much more than the blind (I wrote about this before) I really like the jokes and humor in the posts. if I feel that there is something insulting to me in the article, I just do not read it. this is my peculiar way out. before, I was very fond of communication here, there were interesting people with an interesting opinion, there was no hysterics. there were disputes and conversations, but it was all very pleasant. now I try to comment much less often because of some personalities. admin said “do not pay attention” and I stopped pay attention. came, commented and left. but still I want to make the former friendly and calm atmosphere on our site come back again

        1. it was a typo. edited. Once again many thanks for the dislike to my comment. do not hesitate to put more and more, I like this attention to my humble person)

    10. Agreed. If osop is not for the faint hearted then our comments on osop are also not for the faint hearted. And we should have the freedom to say whatever we want respectfully.
