I got a chance to catch ‘La Croisiere’ on DVD last week (after coming across its trailer) and I liked the film so much that I thought I share the news with all OSOP readers here. ‘La Croisiere’ is a film about a cruise trip to somewhere in Europe. As in most cruise ships, you will meet different types of people. In ‘La Croisiere’ too, there is an attractive pick pocket, a boring housewife, an annoying business woman, a disguised man who’s following his wife and her boyfriend and many other interesting characters.
‘La Croisiere’ is about these characters, played by Antoine Duléry, Charlotte De Turckheim, Line Renaud, Marilou Berry and Nora Arnezeder, and how they get along as friends on this cruise ship. It’s a nice comedy that keeps you entertained. I don’t know how much of ‘La Croisiere’ is basic French humour, but since I’m familiar with the French and their culture; I found ‘La Croisiere’ a great movie time pass.
The casts are great together, working as a team on this film. I recognised only Marilou Berry, who’s the daughter of Josianne Balasko – a great actress. Marilou plays the role of the annoying business woman and she’s great actress too. It’s a bit hard for her to follow the footsteps of her mother, who’s great at comedy, but she is getting there.
I know that many people think that French films are not for families to watch together, there are some films though that are alright. Although in ‘La Croisiere’, there is just one topless scene at the ladies’ pool. So you might want to watch out for that scene, if you are watching with the whole family.
