So Kajol is not the only one, who had a fallout with Karan Johar. As per his book “An Unsuitable Boy”, KJo also had a fallout with his favourite Shah Rukh Khan. Their friendship (one-sided love story) was really the talk of Bollywood ever since they did ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ together. Do you know that KJo also has a picture of Shah Rukh on the wall at his office right next to a picture of his dad? That’s how much Shah Rukh means to him. But what we are wondering is, why did Karan bother to let this out in his book since he has been going red in the face denying there was ever a fallout in the first place. Remember the first episode of ‘Koffee with Karan’? The one that Shah Rukh attended with Alia Bhatt? Well, Karan made it a point to say that there was never anything wrong with their friendship/relationship. It was just the media and people assuming so.
Should we believe everything Karan says from now on? To think that their friendship of many years went sour because of a film role? That’s petty. Actually, even Rani Mukherjee once said that she cried when Karan didn’t offer her ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. It’s strange how they believe that just because they are close, he has to take them in every film of his. It’s also Karan’s fault for saying that he can never do a film without Shah Rukh and Kajol. Truth to be told. we think PC had something to do with their fallout. Anyways, check out what Karan wrote about Shah Rukh in his book. For the record, we don’t think people were envious of their relationship. If anything, people made fun of how close they were! Just read the way that Karan talks about Shah Rukh and you will get why people made fun of their dostana.
Karan Johar on Shah Rukh Khan
Karan on how possessive Shah Rukh is
Shah Rukh is a very possessive person. He is a possessive friend. I think I may have hurt him when I made a film without him. And I think I got hurt because when I did, I felt he didn’t give me that paternal or fraternal feeling that I had from him otherwise. I think we were two hurt friends for no reason.
Compared to his fallout with Kajol, he respected Shah Rukh despite not talking to him
There was a simmering silent, respectable distance between us. But, there is also an equal amount of love an affection we have for each other. That’s never going to go. He can ask me for anything and I will do it… There is a big layer of love and respect still, and no one can come in the way of that.
Karan on patching things up with Shah Rukh
I’m kind of back in Shah Rukh’s life in a way. When the origin of the friendship is so strong, it just cannot die. I’ve not allowed to either, and neither has he. It happened organically. “We met at Deepika’s party celebrating Piku’s success at one point when we were talking, we looked at each other I hugged him instinctively and said, I’ve missed you’. And he said, You’ve no idea how much I’ve missed you.’ We had this moment.
Karan even called Shah Rukh first about his fallout with Kajol
When I had a falling out with Kajol. The first call I made was to Shah Rukh. He came to meet, spoke about it to me. Then I called Adi and we discussed it. My instinct was to call Shah Rukh first. He had nothing to do with the problem. But I still called him because somewhere Shah Rukh, Kajol and I have been so close.
