Hrithik Roshan is asking for more money than he probably deserves

There’s no problem when stars charge a lot of money. It’s only a problem when the stars’ opening day numbers at the box office don’t match up. Today, the only stars who can guarantee a huge opening number are Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. It seems that Hrithik Roshan didn’t learn about the mistake he made for ‘Mohenjo Daro’: charging way too much. If he charges 50 crore, then how much will the film’s budget be? To be fair, Hrithik is a damn good actor.

He gives every role he takes on everything he has. But sometimes, that’s not enough for the audience. In this case though, there’s a huge chance that maybe Hrithik doesn’t want to work with Karan Malhotra. Weeks back, it was happily announced that Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan, will make her big screen debut opposite Hrithik Roshan. Despite the 20-year difference between them, everyone was excited about this while thing.

Well, everyone but Hrithik Roshan! Karan Malhotra gave Hrithik ‘Agneepath’ and it seems that Hrithik is in no mood to work with Karan again. It’s been years now since that movie released and Karan is still waiting for his next film to start. After ‘Agneepath’, Karan signed Hrithik and Kareena Kapoor for ‘Shuddhi’, a film that also got shelved after Hrithik had his brain surgery done and got separated from his wife.

After changing the casts, nothing worked in Karan Malhotra’s favour. Karan Johar eventually had to ask Karan to drop the idea of making ‘Shuddhi’ and start thinking of a new script. So he got this new script and went to Hrithik.

Most likely, Hrithik liked the script, but no one at Dharma Productions expected Hrithik to quote such a high price. Maybe Karan Malhotra should probably realise that Hrithik doesn’t want to work with him. Either way, it’s a good thing they didn’t give in because that would just encourage more stars to keep their fees higher despite having flops. This also includes Ranbir Kapoor, who charges about 30+crore. The thing is, these actors are so greedy and think they deserve this much that they don’t think how their big fee makes the budget of the film even bigger.

When the budget is that big, how will the producers recover their money? Worst, if they don’t recover their money, how will they pay other people that work on the film? Look at ‘Bombay Velvet’, it was reported that Anushka Sharma wasn’t paid her full fee while Ranbir got his check in full. And Anushka’s fee was less than 15 crore. To think, she enhanced her lips for that same film. That’s what we are saying, it’s unfair to other people working on a film when a male star charges exorbitantly. 1. The producers should gang up and stop paying exorbitant rates to these actors. In fact the actors should first justify their payment. And it shouldnt go beyond the first day collections of the last movie released. That is a good barometer for salaries. And when it comes to their home productions, they suddenly get stingy and start speaking about budgeting.
