UPDATE: According to the Bhatts…

    UPDATE:

The lady, who spoke to the media or to a particular journalist on what happened, actually shared a note on Sushant’s death. The media is catching it only now and so is the army of trolls going all-out blazing anyone close to Rhea. Here’s her full message and what she said:

Since the media only reported this now, they have also accidentally identified this lady as Rhea’s mother. Clearly, they can’t see that this woman looks too young to be Rhea’s mom but they must have gone along with what she said in her message. Sadly, the trolls commenting on her message on her private Facebook page also misunderstood this part: “As a mother and as a citizen of this country…”. She clearly wrote “as a mother” and everyone assumed she is Rhea’s mom. The trolls are blasting her, calling her daughter (Rhea, in this case) a slut and prostitute, claiming they murdered him together and so on. Seriously, if these people want to honor Sushant’s legacy, they should stop threatening these industry people and calling them such lowly names. They don’t realize that their unruly behavior is the same thing they accused the industry of doing to Sushant. But what they are doing is much worst, giving death and rape threats is not OK! It’s like everyone was so frustrated during the lockdown that they have decided to unleash all their angst by using “justice for Sushant” as a reason.

Rhea’s mistake was thinking she could have helped him get better. She COULD have but only if he WANTED to get better. It’s a two-way situation. By trying to help, she ended up getting herself in all of this. Now this will stick to her for as long as the media and these people remind her of it! It seems that Mahesh Bhatt is a mentor to her. Now don’t make this a creepy situation, it’s the same way Anushka and Bhumi think of Aditya Chopra as their mentor or like Alia thinks of KJo! After all, other than the Bhatts she was not close to anyone else.

    Original Post:

While there are many reports doing the rounds and everyone giving their opinions on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, there’s this interesting take from the Bhatts. As you know, people are blasting Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar online but she is not the Bhatt we are talking about.

    64

Since news of SSR’s death was released, many people are wondering what went wrong and whether he was depressed because Bollywood ousted him and all that. It seems this is not the case with him and based on this recent revelation, things were not what they seemed with SSR.

Late last year, there were reports on how his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty has taken control of his career and is asking him to promote their pairing to producers. Yesterday, there were several reports that hinted Rhea was the reason why SSR distanced himself with everyone close to him. As you know, Rhea has been silent and unreachable since news of SSR’s death spread. They were rumored to be living in together but SSR recently moved back to his home.

This is where the Bhatts come in. Rhea is quite close to them as they have worked together and stayed in touch. If you remember, there was this uncomfortable picture doing the rounds online with Rhea and Mahesh Bhatt. We posted about this in THIS post last year. They must be really close that he feels comfortable enough to pose with her as if she’s his daughter.

You know the senior Bhatts, they give their opinions on everything and everyone. So yesterday upon hearing the news of Sushant’s passing, Mukesh Bhatt said this:

Producer Mukesh Bhatt said that when he met Sushant for Sadak 2, he appeared “disturbed” and “there was something amiss”.

While talking to Times Now, said that he “saw it coming”. “I had met him on a number of occasions. He had come to our office for Aashiqui 2, but things didn’t work out then. Then when we were beginning Sadak 2, Alia and Mahesh Bhatt said that Sushant was very keen. He came over and met me, we spent about an hour talking about various things.

“I could make out he was a very disturbed soul. There was something about him that I felt, he was not connected. That bothered me more than anything else. It was about a year-and-a-half back. He was a very disturbed boy. He was not there, while talking to me, I felt that he was not on the same plain. There was something amiss, something wrong.”

“I started my career way back with Parveen Babi, she was also a victim of schizophrenia. I remember telling my brother, that I am afraid he is also going the Parveen Babi way. I am not shocked, because I saw this coming,” Mukhesh Bhatt said.

So Alia and her father Mahesh apparently recommended Sushant for ‘Sadak 2’, which means Alia does know him well enough that he approached her saying he was interested. And Alia passed on the message to her uncle and father. See, she doesn’t have to do what KJo tells her, she does have a spine after all.

Back to what Mukesh Bhatt said. If he thinks SSR was like Parveen Babi then it is possible that he was not suffering from depression but from a more severe mental health disorder. It is possible since over the past year, SSR’s team changed as they couldn’t work alongside him anymore. He refused so many scripts and it was heavily being reported that due to his behaviour, the big productions have decided to stay away from him.

He delivered a big hit last year so this behaviour was certainly not normal. He was still getting offers, but he wanted producers to take him and his girlfriend then he increased his fee and so on. It definitely wasn’t like no one was coming to him with offers, they were. Out of the current young outsiders barring Ranveer Singh, Sushant was very much on many producers and directors’ wishlist, including top directors and producers.

As for Rhea, we are guessing the reports since yesterday might have affected her and those close to her. Because someone who knows her and SSR, the Bhatt’s writer Suhrita Sengupta gave this interview today:

    62

“Sushant had come to meet Bhatt Saab for a possible role in Sadak 2. They hit it off instantly, Sushant was a talker. He held forth on every topic under the sun. Sushant could speak on Quantum physics as well as cinema,” says Suhrita sorrowfully.

Bhatt Saab identified the melancholy under Sushant’s constant exuberance. “He had seen it in Parveen Babi and he knew there was nothing that would be done except medication. Rhea who stuck on in spite of  Sushant’s rapid descent into depression tried her best to ensure that Sushant would take his medication. But he refused.”

Without medication, Sushant’s depression got worse.

“During the last one year, he had cut himself completely from all outside contact. Rhea was with him until she could take it no longer. There came a time when Sushant began hearing voices. He began to feel people were trying to kill him. One day an Anurag Kashyap film was playing in Sushant’s home and he told Rhea, ‘I  said no to an offer from Kashyap. Now he’s going to come to kill me.’ That’s when  Rhea was too frightened to stay with  Sushant any longer,” says  Suchitra.

    Rhea quit the relationship.

“She had no choice. Bhatt Saab told her there was nothing she could do. If she stayed on she would lose her sanity too. Rhea waited for Sushant’s sister to come to Mumbai and take charge. Sushant’s sisters tried their best to support and comfort him. But he was beyond listening to anyone. He wouldn’t take his medication,”  confides Suhrita.

In his final months, Sushant was locked away in his own mental prison, suffering intensely. Unable to let anyone reach into his dungeon of darkness as he plunged deeper and deeper into it.

While everyone was reporting how Bollywood people should have reached out to him when they knew he was going through this, a film journalist said many couldn’t reach out as SSR has changed his number and refused to speak to many of them. This explains why there were reports going around saying how his girlfriend was taking calls made to his phone and that she was handling his career. Most likely, she was helping him since he was going through this problem. If this is true and she broke up with him, it made sense why he went back to living  by himself in this home after living in together since January.

As of now, it has been confirmed that he was suffering from depression and that months before he has stopped taking his medications. It must not have been easy for those around him as they couldn’t force him to take his medications if he didn’t want to. It does explain why his friends stayed over and also why his sister was in Mumbai to be closer to him.

SSR was not well and him not taking his meds made things worst. His sister said he has not been well lately. His family knew he was unwell and suffering from a severe mental health disorder but obviously they didn’t expect he was going to take such a drastic step.

Sushant has not lived life through rosy glasses that he wanted to be desperately accepted by KJo’s close-knit gang. He had his own life with his own set of friends, and was well-read. It is impossible to think he reached this conclusion because he was not accepted. Despite being an outsider in the industry, he had people around him who loved and cared for him deeply so may God give them the strength to go through this. And may he finally find peace wherever he is.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in the morning today by his house help, who informed the Mumbai Police. At the time of his death, there were two of his friends and two house help who were at home with Sushant.

A couple of hours later, Mumbai Police confirmed that Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide. No note or message has been found yet. An investigation is going on at the moment to find out what happened.

It has been rumoured that Sushant was suffering from depression allegedly due to the financial problems he was going through and not to mention, the alienation from the industry when his career started to drop. Just last week, Sushant’s former manager took her own life during the lockdown. His friend reportedly told the police that Sushant was very disturbed when he heard of his former manager’s death.

Sushant’s sister confirmed to the cops that he was suffering from depression for over 6 months and that she was aware of his depression diagnosis.

May Sushant finally be at peace. May he rest in peace.

Sushant Singh Rajput is survived by his father and four sisters. His last Instagram post was in the memory of his late mother who passed away in 2002.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Career on Indian Television and in Bollywood

Sushant became a recognized actor on television when he was paired opposite Ankita Lokhande in ‘Pavrita Rishta’. He made his debut in Bollywood in ‘Kai Po Che’, a film that was successful at the box office. He later got his solo big break in MS Dhoni’s biopic, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. The film became a big hit and was Sushant’s first entry in the 100 crore club and also the biggest surprise hit of 2016. Following that, he was signed as the lead in Yash Raj’s ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ , which didn’t do too well at the box office hence hampering any chance of the film getting a sequel. His last big hit was ‘Chhichhore’, which was released last year but the film failed to do anything good for Sushant professionally. His upcoming film ‘Dil Bechara’, which was originally supposed to be released in 2019, will be released on an online streaming soon.

      Sushant Singh Rajput’s Personal Life

Sushant was in a long-term relationship with his co-star Ankita Lokhande for almost six years. After breaking up with Ankita, Sushant was rumoured to be romantically involved with his co-star of ‘Raabta’, Kriti Sanon. As of late 2019, Sushant was reportedly dating Rhea Chakraborty.
