Blind Item – November 2017 – Bollywood 3

We have another blind item for you today and this time, it’s from Mumbai Mirror. We don’t know if you will be interested to read about this blind item because it’s not exactly connected directly to Bollywood movies, but more on the side of Bollywood music. To be honest, even we don’t keep up with these guys, but we do know their famous uncle and can very much imitate him when we have our cup of tea (you will get this reference if you know who we are talking about).

Anyways, the blind item below has some update on what’s going on in this family of musicians. Check it out below.

WHILE all seems kosher on the face of it, a major sibling rivalry is brewing between these two musically inclined brothers. We hear that one of them broke down recently while being hosted by a friend, and said that he and his brother sparred frequently, and hated each other bitterly. It’s only thanks to their father the two are being forced to present a happy and cultural family picture. But the jealousies are becoming harder to hide.

    1. Overrated and overhyped musicians. Inse acche aur zyada talented hai anu Malik and his daughter anmol.

    2. I hope there’s juicier gossip to come. Admin what do you think of the Padmavati release deferral? I am hearing that SLB is milking the publicity to maximum and that this was their strategy since day 1 etc. Any truth? I find it hard to believe that they would postpone release so close for publicity.

          1. If SLB indeed wanted this kind of publicity, then he is the silliest filmmaker ever. Getting death threats (extended to family also), unable to get censor certificate, pushing date of release indefinitely, being on the wrong side of the political establishment… this is not the publicity that helps. This is nervous breakdown inducing publicity. Coz they have invested money and now no sign of revenue earning in the near future. I read on NDTV that this delay amounts to a loss of Rs 200 crore. Not to mention that the Censor board will now ask for a zillion changes because they will be super cautious. So a few re-edits will need to be done. As a publicity strategy this seems suicidal. It’s more likely that he tried to repeat his Ram Leela formula. Even then the Rajputs had a problem with the film. Even then he assured them in writing that he’ll change the clan names etc. That release was not stopped. But the Rajputs were still upset after Ram Leela released so now they are not willing to trust his word. Check this link:

            1. I’m definitely for freedom of expression and art especially in a democratic society. But not to veer down any political slope, I think SLB should’ve known better. Not to say he shouldn’t have made a film like this but considering there are zealous idiots who would use this film to their advantage, he shouldn’t have cast DP and RS (again! again!). These idiots just use their ‘real’ life romance and think it will be portrayed in ‘reel’ (even though apparently that isn’t the case in this film). I’m kind of 2 minds about it because even though I will still watch the movie – I’m kind of tired of his bigger than life grandiose stories.

            2. Thank you, I just read that! I do know that he has used this kind of publicity before. Even with BM the Maratha descendants were really upset etc. Well this one now is blown out of proportion. I heard its going to release in Feb now? That would not be good for the film. Shame, I was really looking forward to watch Padmavati. The only SLB film that interested me tbh and gets delayed. LOL my luck isn’t great.

              1. I am no longer sure what the point of the film is anymore after all the changes he make to the original script. Based on the Rajput demands. I was excited about it earlier. I thought it’ll be a story with a different spin. But now the trailer goes on and on about Rajput honour and valour, then shows a glorification of the Jauhar ceremony and how khilji is a meat eating monster. And the princess who is supposed to be the pivotal centre barely has two lines. What’s the point of all the negotiations and compromises and self-censorship if you are STILL not allowed to release the film. He might as well have stuck to his guns and kept the original script.
