Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal and Keerthy Suresh are National Awards 2019

The National Awards 2019 have just been announced! The list is quite a surprising one, but it’s a mixture of good cinema from all over India. Some of the films here were also part of the Best Films in their specific language last year and were also voted as per of the polls we had here in December 2018.

The Best Actress is definitely well-deserved, but Ayushmann for best actor? Was there no better performance? And Vicky too, was there no one else in any other cinema that deserved it? How sweet of them to notice Surekha Sikri’s performance for ‘Badhaai Ho’?!

How can they give it to Ayushmann and not to Tabu? Well, at least it’s not as bad when Saif won for ‘Hum Tum’ or when Akshay won for ‘Rustom’.

You know, there was a time when the National Awards were announced and most people had no idea who the winners or films were. They were considered a big deal as only artsy or really good films were chosen. NA gave a platform to these lesser-known films and actors. But over the past few years, NA has had almost the same winners as the popular awards.

Anyways, watch as KJo will now pounce on these winners and try to corrupt them!

Here are the winners of India’s National Awards 2019. Congratulations to all of them.

@Admin hey admin, can we get a scoop/story on Virat and Rohit spat? what role anushka has to play in that?

  2. Sara says:

I don’t know about Vicky because I haven’t seen Uri but I think Ayushmann deserved NA for Andhadhoon. He was really good in the movie and it was one of the best performances of the year. And also congratulations to Keerthy Suresh for winning best actress award. Mahanati is one of few south movies I have watched this year and it was a very good movie. I didn’t even know who was that actress the movie based on but I really loved it.

  3. Ron says:

@Admin .. So if not Ayushman then who? Ran veer singh? I think you are a bit biased towards DP and Ranveer

    • Rad says:

@Ron – If not Ayushman, why should it necessarily be Ranveer Singh or any other bw actor? This is not bollywood awards. As strong as Ayushman’s performance was, it didn’t seem worthy of a Nat’l award.

      • nefarious says:

i agree. i wasnt exactly blown away by his performance, although it was good.
I havent seen Uri, but i can see that it panders to nationalism etc, hence, the award.

I suspect KR must be disappointed for not being considered this year 😛

    • Manisha says:

@admin have you watched Andhudhan?? Everyone who watched it (including people who barely even watch Bollywood) loved it and that too of AK’s performance. Who else can play “blind” and “fake blind” as well as he did?

      • Admin says:

Of course! It had a great script. And, Tabu was outstanding. When the story is good, direction is well-executed, actors get to perform to the best of their abilities. But it wasn’t that much as “OMG, what an amazing film!”. The same director had ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ with Urmila and Saif, which was amazing because it was kinda new at that time to have such a mainstream actress play that character with a commercial actor playing the selfish bad guy. So compared to EHT, Andhadhun was normal.

I hope in future too National Awards dont loose their credibility like other popular awards 🙂
