Akshay Kumar is still an actor just to make money

At least, this is what we understood from this interview! But to be fair, anyone can guess this is Akshay Kumar’s true intention. Why else does he do that many films in a year and that too of all genres? By all genres, we mean crappy films. You know how it is with actors. Once they do a good film, they are expected to go higher. But, Akshay goes higher and lower in the same year.

We came to the conclusion that he likes to stay out of his home and likes to make lots of money. He only likes to have Sundays off to spend time with his family. It is strange though that Akshay can do his own thing. We are at a time when the audience expects actors to work hard in their films. And here is Akshay, not giving a crap about what you think. Here’s Akshay talking about how he likes to wing it on the sets.

Akshay Kumar Interview on his Films’ Roles

Akshay Kumar on never preparing himself for a role

I don’t prepare myself for any role. I think my directors prepare more than me. I believe that I would not be able to compete with my director’s preparation because he is doing one film a year while I am doing more. Therefore, my common sense says that I only follow his preparation of the role for me. I don’t act smart in front of my director.

Akshay on following his director’s vision

Everything was prepared. I just followed what he said and make sure I excel in that That’s the only preparation I did.

    1. Let all Actors Coexist

But, what is wrong with that? After all, Bollywood is a business like any other. No matter who the actor is, to some degree they will be monetarily minded. And no;’to be fair’, what you guessed from this interview is wrong. Apart from him earning money, the lad has constantly stated that he does an average of 4 movies an year because there are technicians and artists in Bollywood who stay employed because of this and because he follows a strict code or discipline that drives his life. Come to think of it, your site has more gossip to publish as he does more movies. .

And when you say different genres and then imply them as crappy, shows how little knowledge of film making you possess. He ‘does’ give a crap about what you think as he is making movies that cater to a plethora of Indian public. Content movies for the class and massy movies for the mass.

No superstar in his right mind would touch a film like Jolly LLB 2 or Pad-Man if money was their main objective. Therefore your point is moot!

It’s one thing to publish gossip on your website but another to question an actor’s sensibilities for making movies. All in all a very poorly written and inane article!

      1. You are missing our point. Look at Aamir Khan’s way of thinking before signing a film. He doesn’t want to let his audience down. He doesn’t want to let his investors down. That’s why Aamir Khan is choosy about the work he puts out there as an actor, producer and director. Aamir also doesn’t charge for his films. He only takes his part when the movie has made money. Akshay only cares about making money in that sense because he doesn’t give a crap about all that. You know he’s the highest paid actor. To him, he gets paid and whether the film works or not, whether the audience likes it or not, whether producers get their money back or not: it doesn’t matter to him. That’s what we are talking about here. It’s still about money for him.

    2. Salman and Akshay are both money minded. Don’t go by Akshay’s deshbakhti. Why do they work with Sajid Nadiadwala knowing his links to Dawood?
This is from Outlook magazine’s 1997 article on Gulshan Kumar murder.

“There are various degrees of involvement. I can say for sure that there are about four people in all who may be involved with the underworld. The soft-spoken Sajid Nadiadwala, Shashilal Nair, Javed Siddiqui and Mukesh Duggal. The last two, as everybody knows, had to pay for their links. But with the other two, one may debate the nature of involvement. It’s purely financing, nobody would suggest Nadiadwala would be involved in anything murkier.” Even so, his kin Habib Nadiadwala was a key organiser of the infamous June 12 bash and has been questioned by the crime branch.”

      1. not shocking at all…that time, actors HAD to work otherwise the underworld would get them like they tried to get Karan Johar and Rakesh Roshan.
